About

These are books that I have been obtaining since about 1974. They are all fiction, and were or are all top 15 best sellers (or by best selling authors) according to the New York Times weekly hardcover fictional list. In 1974, a company called Crown Books was starting out, and sold all of the top 10 Times best sellers at 40% off list price. Crown went out of business a few years ago, so now I buy the books off of the Barnes & Noble Web site (always taking advantage of their free shipping), directly from a B&N store, or from Costco or Sam's Club, usually at at least 40% off. I try to buy only hardbacks, but when I become interested in an author and wish to read their body of work and not all of their books are available in hardback, I will purchase paperbacks. Probably 85% of the books are hardback.

My wife and kids are also avid readers, although my wife and I don't always have the same taste. I will read any genre of fiction, while she stays away from fantasy and mystery. Lately, she has been into chick-lit. Admittedly, I haven't gone there yet.

The authors on the recently obtained list are mostly men, but that doesn't mean anything. It only means that women authors that I read, like Sue Grafton and Patricia Cornwell, haven't put anything out lately.

The Web site was developed in its entirety by using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004. It is actually a Dreamweaver project for a class I am taking through Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL.
